Insulating the ground from the cold is one of the most important factors during your camping and hiking nights. Many hikers minimize the impact of cold on the ground. To maximise your warmth, you should have a ground sheet, a mattress and choose a strategic location.
It is important to place the tent perpendicular to the wind for better protection and a comfortable night. Use natural shelters (rocks, trees, etc.), flat ground and a suitable surface that will insulate you from the ground (moss, soil, grass, etc.). Protection from wind and cold are two crucial elements in choosing your location.
