Maïkana is the crazy story of a pilot project to a social enterprise! Laura Ducharme, founder of Maïkana, is a specialist in interventions combining nature and adventure.🙂
Maïkana's mission is to mobilise, consolidate and innovate in a context of nature and adventure. Its innovative approach through expedition and adventure is an incubator and accelerator of human potential.
His background
The Maïkana adventure began in 2018 with a test project during the MEC's Generation Outdoors Summit. Laura wins the competition with her outdoor pet therapy pilot project during the jury presentation.🙂
In March 2019, she is organising an 8-week pilot project with 14 young people with mental health and neurodevelopmental diagnoses (ADHD, GAD, autism spectrum disorder, etc.). A resounding success with these young people who develop social skills, integrating the outdoors into their daily lives.
Subsequently, Maïkana won the competition OSEntreprendre competition at the local level, received the OSEentreprendre grant and Mentoring Network. The company accumulates numerous recognitions from the community over the years. The enthusiasm of the outdoor community, businesses and local and regional institutions is very present!
