Here are some hiking ideas less than an hour and a half from Montreal that are perfect for a family outing. Take advantage of a day outdoors to have a good time and enjoy nature in the company of your children.


1. Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno


The Mont Saint Bruno National Park is located approximately 30 minutes from Montreal. It's the perfect place to get away from the city without having to prepare a complicated hike. Part of the mountain is landscaped as a park. The Seigneurial Lake, with his swansis the perfect place to spend quality family time.


You can even make a stop at the old mill's tea room! The perfect place to have a hot chocolate, a coffee or to taste some sweets. A hike not too far away, which will allow you to disconnect from the city and enjoy the pure mountain air.

2.Mont-Saint-Hilaire 


Mont Saint-Hilaire is about 30-40 minutes from Montreal. This hike offers a fabulous show through a surprising mountain. There are several hiking trails to climb the various peaks of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the most popular of which is the Sugar Loaf. For a slightly longer and less crowded hike, opt for the Four Peaks Loop, which makes for a great experience. about 10km (Rocky, Dieppe, Sugarloaf and Burned hill).

3.Mont-Saint-Grégoire


The Mount Saint Gregory is located about 30-40 minutes from Montreal. This short hike of about 45-60 minutes crosses the maple groves on the mountain. It's the perfect hike to introduce your family. The trail is marked with stairs to help you in the steeper areas.


You will arrive at the top of the mountain with a 360-degree panoramic view on the mountains of Bromont, Rougemont, Mount Yamaska and Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

4 Val-David-Val-Morin Regional Park


Located in 1h05 of Montreal, the Val-David-Val-Morin Regional Park is the perfect playground for the outdoors. The 4 seasons are different and incredible to enjoy the mountains. The path to climb to Mount Condor is well trodden, but will bring you a lot of fun.


You will need hiking boots and from a card to direct you to the park. The park offers beautiful scenery and views. Your family will be thrilled!


5. Rigaud Mountain (Mount Oscar)


The Rigaud Mountain is located on the West Island of Montreal at approximately 50 minutes from downtown. This small mountain is a haven of peace for the hike, cross-country skiing and the bike.


Take advantage of the Rigaud mountain to have a good family time. The colours in autumn are incredible. Learning to snowshoe on this mountain is also a good workout for the whole family.
